The College Football season is about a week away, and our countdown is wrapping up. Today we cover No. 3.

#3: Gus Lavaka - Offensive Line

Gus Lavaka has started 13 consecutive games for the Beavers and is one of their most experienced lineman, despite just being a junior. Lavaka is originally from Kearns, Utah and he appeared in ten games as a freshman. For his career he’s appeared in 22 games (19 starts) and has had the starting left guard spot locked up for quite sometime now. He is also on the watch list for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award.

Lavaka is listed at 6-foot-4, 353-pounds on Oregon State’s roster and will look to open up running lanes for Artavis Pierce and company. He’s one of the most talented players on Oregon State’s roster and will be tasked with a heavy workload. If the Beavers are going to be successful offensively, the offensive line will need to be a strength for them this season.
