We’re up to number 8 on Building the Dam’s countdown of the top 20 players to watch for 2023. We’re back on the defense today, and with big shakeups with Oregon State’s linebackers in the offseason, a lot is going to be riding on the performance of today’s featured player.

#8) Easton Mascarenas-Arnold

Omar Speights is now an LSU Tiger, and Kyrei Fisher-Morris is a Saskatchewan Rough Rider. That’s two huge impact players the Beavers will be missing this season, meaning the Beavers are going to need their remaining linebackers to step up if they don’t want the defense to backslide.

We’ve covered a few members of that unit so far, but Easton Mascarenas-Arnold is a player many are expecting a breakout season from. He had a monster sophomore season, with 37 total tackles (third best among linebackers), 5.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and an interception. Imagine what he could do with a full season as a starter.
