The next spot in the Top 20 Oregon State players countdown goes to a Florida native, who took out some aggression on his former Gators squad in the Las Vegas Bowl last year. Today at the #12 spot, it’s defensive tough-guy, Andrew Chatfield Jr.

Another defensive talent who should be a year stronger in 2023, Andrew Chatfield Jr. is one of those physical and strong edge talents, that can be a game-changer on that side of the ball for the Beavers.
Tallying twenty tackles a year ago, Chatfield Jr. also accounted for 2.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a sack, showcasing his abilities to perform in run support and getting after the quarterback. Not the most nimble to play in pass coverage, Chatfield Jr. knows and excels in his role to get off blocks and fill gaps and as long as his motor holds up, he’s one of the most naturally gifted pieces on the whole Beavers roster.
Defense is definitely the name of the game for Oregon State’s Pac-12 title hopes and the emergence of players like Chatfield Jr. could be an absolute one-man game-changer against the conference’s tougher tasks.
