#30 Paisa Savea - Defensive Tackle

Paisa Savea arrived at Oregon State from Snow College (Utah) last year to fill an immediate need along the defensive line. While he may have only one start to his career at OSU, he gathered plenty of experience through the line rotation. He grabbed 19 total tackles with one tackle for loss while seeing the field in all 12 games.

Savea is a large body, standing 6’4’’, making him one of the tallest defensive lineman. But don’t let his size full you, he can move along the line well while also clogging those running lanes. I really liked seeing him and Elu Aydon on the field together last year where they could eat up space and allow the linebackers to fly. If the Beavers add Craig Evans to the mix, I think they have a very intimidating defensive tackle lineup.

We expect to see Savea a lot again this year whether he starts or not, and the folks at BeaversEdge are pretty high on him too as he seemed to impress in the spring and in the first practice.
