Oregon St. has received its third commitment for the 2014 football recruiting class. Tanner Sanders, from Crescent Valley High, which is located across town from the Oregon St. campus in Corvallis, announced his decision during a half day camp this weekend.
Sanders is a multi-talent athlete who has played quarterback, wide receiver, and defensive back for the Raiders, as well as starting on both the basketball and baseball teams.
He threw for 2,344 yards and 16 touchdowns last season, and rushed for 563 yards, and 6 more touchdowns, for the Raiders.
Though he plays quarterback, as have both of Oregon St.'s other recruits, Nick Mitchell and Marcus McMarion, Sanders is most likely to see action at either receiver or safety for head coach Mike Riley, though his versatility gives Riley the options and depth he likes to be able to adapt to changing circumstances.
Sanders is 6'5", and 198 lbs., and is rated a 3 star recruit by both Scout.com and Rivals, com, who has Sanders as the #4 prospect in the state.
