Oregon St. has picked up their second commit for the 2014 recruiting class, and its the second quarterback.
Marcus McMaryion from Dinuba High in Dinuba, CA, committed after meeting on campus with head coach Mike Riley this week, choosing the Beavers over Arizona. McMaryion joins Nick Mitchell, the first to commit to the 2014 class, at the position.
McMaryion, a 3 star prospect according to both Scout.com and Rivals.com, is 6'2", and weighs 178 lbs., and is a dual threat, run or pass type quarterback, quite the departure from all of Oregon St.'s current quarterbacks, and most of what Riley has recruited over the years.
McMaryion completed 197 of 324 passes for 3,477 yards and 43 touchdowns, and with only 3 interceptions, and also rushed for 238 yards and 3 touchdowns last season for the Emperors, leading them to an 11-2 record, the Central Sequoia League championship, and the California Division III championship game.
