Oregon St. backup quarterback Richie Harrington has announced he is leaving the Beavers, transferring to Southern Utah of the Football Championship Subdivision Big Sky Conference.
The 6'1", 224 lb. Harrington, who appeared in 3 games last season as a red-shirt freshman, and completed 6 of 9 passes, for 66 yards and a touchdown, will be eligible to play for the Thunderbirds immediately, and has 3 seasons left.
Harrington, who was from Oaks Christian HIgh in Westlake Village, CA, was the #3 quarterback in 2012 for the Beavers, and was battling with red-shirt freshman Brent VanderVeen for the #3 spot behind junior Sean Mannion and senior Cody Vaz.
Harrington's departure leaves Oregon St. with only 3 quarterbacks on the roster, until the arrival this fall of Kyle Kempt, from Massillon, Ohio.
