Fall camp is underway, and we’re just over a month away from the start of Beaver football. As we rev up our coverage, we’re going to be counting down 21 of the players who will make the most impact on the 2021 squad. Today, we’re taking a look at offensive lineman Brandon Kipper.
#13 - Brandon Kipper
- Position: Offensive Line
- Class: RS Junior
- Height/Weight: 6’ 6”, 310 lbs
- Hometown: Caldwell, Idaho / Columbia High School
A massive player who began his college career at Hawai’i, Oregon State will sure be happy that Brandon Kipper is on their side of the ball when the Beavers meet the Rainbow Warriors on September 11th, as one of the largest and most talented pieces in the game.
Kipper is mobile and strong, as he’s anchored the Beavers offense since 2019, when he was an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention selection, helping Oregon State to regularly become one of the best rushing offenses in the conference and spur the career of Jermar Jefferson as a star at tailback. Now, he’ll try to do the same for Deshaun Fenwick and BJ Baylor, both of whom should play a regular role in the Beavers’ run game all season.
While offensive linemen rarely get the credit they deserve, it’s hard to ignore a substantial piece like Kipper, who I think has a ceiling that’s truly as high as any lineman in the Pac-12. Be ready to see big #68 pulling around the edge a lot this campaign to open holes for those behind him.
