Fall camp is underway, and we’re just over a month away from the start of Beaver football. As we rev up our coverage, we’re going to be counting down 21 of the players who will make the most impact on the 2021 squad. Today, we stay on defense with D-Lineman Simon Sandberg.

#17 - Simon Sandberg

  • Position: Defensive Line
  • Class: RS Junior
  • Height/Weight: 6’ 3”, 293 lbs
  • Hometown: Karlstad, Sweden / Tingvalla High School

With Isaac Hodgins out for two months while he recovers from surgery, Simon Sandberg is now the Beavers most seasoned player on the Defensive LIne. Sandberg has had a solid career in Corvallis, with 16 total tackles over 16 games as a starter. Last year was Sandberg’s first as a full time starter, and the team will be looking to him to step up his production this season.

Sandberg had a solid spring, and with the defense coalescing into a strong group of veterans, there’s a lot of potential for him to have a much bigger year. If the line can develop into a strong supporting group for an already terrifying bunch of linebackers, it should be a great year for the OSU Defense.
