Anthony Spurlock Commits to Oregon State

The Beavers land a talented WR from Louisiana

NCAA Football: Minnesota at Oregon State Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

Anthony Spurlock is a 6-foot-1, 160-pound wide receiver from New Orleans, Louisiana. The three-star recruit (according to 247 Sports), held offers from FCS schools: Idaho, Jacksonville State, Nicholls State and Troy. The Beavers were the first FBS school to offer Spurlock and have long been rumored as the heavy favorites to earn his commitment. Spurlock made his decision official Monday night via Twitter.

Oregon State hosted 2018 recruits Anthony Spurlock, Isaiah Tufaga, Andy Koch and Isaiah Smalls this weekend as they fell to Minnesota. The outcome of the game didn’t damper Spurlock’s enthusiasm in Oregon State or Corvallis though as he is “100% committed.”

Wide receivers coach, Jason Phillips, was Anthony Spurlock’s main recruiter and he marks the 8th football commit of the 2018 class. He joins: Spencer Petras, Isaiah Smalls, Kase Rogers, Jake Dukart, Isaac Hodgins, Andy Koch and Deshon Wilson. The Beavers are expected to have around 16 scholarships available for the 2018 class and they continue to stay busy since they sent out their official written offers at the start of August.
