- Oregon State has announced that their future football schedule is undergoing some alterations, as their 2023 clash with Boise State has been moved to 2024 and their 2024 meeting with San Jose State has been pushed up to 2023. The Spartans game will also become the opening-day game for 2023 campaign. Nothing too crazy here, but important none the less.
- The Beavers also have been busy hiring a new women’s soccer coach, filling the empty position left by Matt Kagan who resigned in late May, and have selected Lauren Sinacola for the role. Sinacola comes to Corvallis after a three-year stay as an assistant coach at Notre Dame. She also has previously worked at Western Michigan, Michigan State and Olivet College.
- Head men’s basketball coach Wayne Tinkle spent most of the summer retooling a roster that made a stunning run to the Elite Eight and he now speaks out about most of the new faces that will be suiting up for Oregon State this year. Some of the Beavers more intriguing new faces include former Maryland seven-plus footer Chol Marial, Fairleigh Dickinson guard Xzavier Malone-Key and Memphis wing Ahmand Rand.
- Bound for the MLB All-Star Futures Game on July 11th in Denver, according to some belief in the Baltimore Orioles organization, catching stand-out and former top pick Adley Rutchsman may be hearing that call-up sooner rather than later. While the team has stated they’ll “remain patient”, the need for AL East cellar-dwellers may outweigh the waiting game for Rutschman in the near future.
- And finally, we leave you with more Chad Johnson. After his boxing debut went a bit sour earlier this year, the former Beavers star went back to his unique ways by dropping a $1,000 tip at an IHOP restaurant and apparently knocked off Damian Lillard in a game of “one-on-one”. As always with Ochocinco, things are on a believe what you will scenario.
