LSU (43-15) is the fifth overall seed in the tournament, and has been one of the top teams in the country for most of the year. They’re led by SEC Player of the Year Dylan Crews, a center fielder who’s .423 batting average leads the conference. Crews is considered by many to be the top prospect in this year’s MLB Draft.

Sam Houston (38-23) was the champion of the Western Athletic Conference this year and will be facing the Beavers in their first game of the tournament. The Beavers will have to watch out for pitcher Chandler David, who was named to the All WAC team after posting a 5-0 record with a 2.30 ERA.
Tulane (19-40) managed to sneak into the tournament after a Cinderella run through the AAC Tournament. Despite having the second worst record in the conference the Green Wave rolled through the bracket and took down top seed East Carolina in the final. They’ll have a much tougher test this weekend when they’ll take on LSU in their first game in the NCAA tournament.
The Baton Rouge Regional will get started on Friday, June 2nd. LSU and Tulane will tip things off at 12 PM Pacific, while Game 2 will be Oregon State vs Sam Houston, with first pitch set for 5 PM Pacific.
