- Confirmed per a tweet from Verbal Commits, Oregon State offered class of 2018 forward Madiaw Niang on Monday, attempting to make the 6’ 9” forward a late addition to the Beavers spring recruiting haul. At the moment, Niang also hold offers from a host of other suitors, including Coastal Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Fort Wayne, Long Beach State, Nicholls State, Old Dominion, Stetson, UTEP and Wyoming.

A long, versatile and athletic forward, Niang does show some vague similarities to current Beavers stand-out Alfred Hollins, with his inside-outside abilities. A native of Senegal, Niang plays his high school basketball at DME Sports Academy in Florida,
- In more basketball news, head coach Wayne Tinkle is trying to keep the Beavers basketball program trending in the right direction, this time by trying to add a big-time graduate transfer to the mix. Samford point guard Christen Cunningham, the school’s all-time leader in assists, recently visited campus according to the Oregonian, as he considers Oregon State one of his potential future destinations. However, the Beavers are up against some stiff competition for the 6’ 2” ball-handlers services, as Cunningham also recently visited Ohio State, as well.
