Oregon State head coach Gary Andersen announced the Beavers' depth chart post spring ball, headed into off-season workouts, and for the beginning of summer ball, today.

There aren't many surprises, but there are some nuggets to be gleaned from the release.

As expected Darrell Garretson, fresh off a stronger than the competition performance in last Saturday's Spring Game, is the #1 quarterback, and with Marcus McMaryion listed as #2, it confirms expectations that Andersen will try to red-shirt freshman Mason Moran.

And based on his strong performance Saturday, it appears that freshman Trevon Bradford won't be red-shirting if he doesn't get hurt before the season gets going. Bradford is listed as #2 at the "T" slot receiver, behind Victor Bolden, and also as Bolden's backup as both kickoff and punt returner.

A bit of a surprise is Yanni Demogerontas as the first string center, though injury to Leo Fuimaono led to him being co-second team, an "OR" with Brayden Kearsley.

Another bit of a surprise is Damien Haskins listed as co-#2 running back behind Ryan Nall, in another "OR" with Paul Lucas, and Kyle White "OR" Tim Cook behind that. At this point, its no doubt about relative experience within the system, and this is a position battle that will continue in summer camp.

Andersen listed 13 starters on both offense and defense, and obviously Oregon State can't start, or play 13 at once, but whether they use 3 or 4 defensive linemen, or whether they start in nickel coverage or not, will depend on opponent and matchups, and then down and distance as the game unfolds.

Baker Pritchard and Sumner Houston have the DE spots, with anticipated Phillip Napoleon still a #2.

Expect Kalani Vakameilalo and Elu Aydon to alternate in the middle of the defensive line against most opponents not named Stanford, as Oregon State emphasizes the 3-4, but will have to adapt on occasion.

At OLB, Bright Ugwoebu has the position over Jonathan Willis, and Titus Failauga on the other side ahead of freshman Shemar Smith. Both had solid springs, and were acknowledged for it.

Offensive H-Back Noah Togiai also earned first-string status with Saturday's strong showing.
