Ethan Thompson Commits to Oregon State

Wayne Tinkle and his staff add another talented Thompson

NCAA Basketball: UCLA at Oregon State Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

Ethan Thompson, the younger brother of Stephen Thompson Jr and son of current assistant coach Stephen Thompson, has committed to Oregon State, over offers from Syracuse and Stanford.

Ethan Thompson is an extremely talented hoops prospect. He’s listed as a 4-star recruit and while Oregon State has recently recruited a few 4-star’s namely: Stephen Thompson, Tres Tinkle, & Drew Eubanks a few years ago; Ethan Thompson is considered an even better prospect. He comes in at #51 on ESPN’s Top 100 prospects list and should provide Oregon State with another proven scorer and playmaker.

Ethan is a 6-foot-4, 175-pound shooting guard. He’s an outstanding shooter, but also attacks the basket relentlessly and efficiently.

This past weekend he visited Corvallis with his friend and fellow 4-star recruit Christian Negron.

Ethan was strongly considering attending Syracuse and playing for Jim Boeheim. His father also played for Syracuse, but he has decided to join his family in Corvallis.

Also, Ethan might play a hand in recruiting Christian Negron to Oregon State (they were teammates this summer). Christian recently released his top 5 and Oregon State has made the list.

Wayne Tinkle and his staff have done an amazing job turning the Beaver hoops program around and now they are attracting some of the top talent in all of the nation. Exciting things are in store for Oregon State and their future!
