The Oregon State Beavers lost another football player to the transfer portal last night, as Defensive Tackle Jordan Whittley announced his decision to transfer. Whittley will be a graduate transfer, with two years of remaining eligibility due to the extensions allowed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Whittley has been with the Beavers since 2019. He came to Corvallis as a Juco transfer from Laney College. He saw some action in 2019, appearing in 14 games with one start, during which he racked up 14 tackles, 3.5 for a loss. Whittley was limited by injuries, and health issues carried over into 2020. Whittley was found to have a tumor located near his heart, and did not appear at all during the Beavers’ 2020 campaign.
While he suited up for Spring practice, Whittley was held out from activities due to Covid-19 concerns, and last night announced his decision to end his career elsewhere. He had enormous potential coming out of Laney College, so hopefully Whittley can find a program that can best utilize his gifts.
