Game 1: (#2) Overseas Elite 93, (#23) Herd That 76

And just like that, the miracle run of Herd That (Marshall Alumni) was over.

Despite the best efforts of Jon Elmore (Marshall), who poured in 23 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists, including 4-8 attempts from long-range, Herd That was simply over-matched by the balanced star power of four-time TBT Champions, Overseas Elite.

Herd That also received strong outings from forward Chris Cokley (UAB), who added 17 points in 18 12 minutes of court-time, 11 points and 4 rebounds from Ryan Luther (Arizona) and even 9 points and 5 boards from Zach Smith (Texas Tech).

Overseas Elite looked like a team seeking out a return to the promised land, as they led by 23 points at one point in the contest and took a 67-55 lead into the fourth quarter.

Seven-time NBA All-Star Joe Johnson anchored the squad with a throwback 35 point effort, which featured a 15-23 shooting display, a 5-6 mark from behind the arc, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Frank Session (Cal State-Los Angeles) and Raphiael Putney (Massachusetts) were the only other members of the squad to finish with double-figures in scoring, chipping in 19 points and 10 points respectively.

Game 2: (#22) Sideline Cancer 65, (#3) Boeheim’s Army 48

Maurice Creek (George Washington) scored 22 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, Marcus Keene (Central Michigan) dropped 13 points and nabbed 8 boards and Remy Abell (Xavier) chipped in 12 points as Team Sideline Cancer, the #22 seed in the TBT 2020, found a way past title contenders Boeheim’s Army (Syracuse Alumni) into the semi-finals.

Eric Thompson (Pacific) was another stand-out performer for the underdog Sideline Cancer, as the 6’ 9” center controlled the interior, tallying 18 rebounds and 3 blocks.

For Boeheim’s Army, the premature end to their TBT 2020 saw guard Eric Devendorf (Syracuse) carry the load once again, finishing with 14 points. Andrew White III (Syracuse) contributed 11 points and 6 rebounds and John Gillon (Syracuse) added 10 points and 4 assists in the defeat.
