- Oregon State head football coach Jonathan Smith sat down with NBC Sports and a few other Pac-12 coaches in UCLA’s Chip Kelly and Arizona State’s Herm Edwards to discuss the current state of the college football world, including “how long he would need to get his team ready to play a game”. Smith’s answer factored mostly around his players’ health and safety and being able to play “quality football”.
- Michigan transfer forward Cole Bajema opted to spurn Oregon State and return home to continue his career, picking Washington late Saturday night over the likes BYU, Gonzaga, Pepperdine, Washington State, the Beavers and more. Despite (now) being at the scholarship limit for the 2020-2021 season, Oregon State was in pursuit of Bajema’s services to add to their 2020 class, which already includes three junior college transfers, a three-star freshman and Nicholls State transfer Warith Alatishe.
- The cool fella Cam Mellor himself over at Pacific Takes have been recreating the 2019 college football season via some sort of gypsy magic (or maybe NCAA Football 14 on a Playstation3) and your 2019 Oregon State Beavers have been rocking and rolling, currently sitting at 5-0 on the season and now ranked 3rd in the Week 6 Pac-12 Power Rankings. If you forgot how the 2019 season really went, just remember it this way as clearly, this was the way it was meant to be.
- Ed Ray, the current President of Oregon State University, spoke with the Oregonian’s John Canzano to discuss some random topics before he steps down on July 1st. Ray has been with the school since 2003 and spoke about his love of sports, the proudest moments of his tenure, former head football coach Mike Riley, Reser Stadium renovations and a lot more.
- And finally, our usual friends (not so sure these days) over at Ralphie Report asked some nonsensical question, wondering what would’ve happened to Colorado’s program had they never lost to Oregon State back in 2018. Clearly, the Beavers were (and still are) the superior program and this will never change, but sometimes other schools need to wonder what it would be like to walk in our shoes for some time. We understand. We miss sports too.
