The Beavers picked up a huge commitment today, and potentially their Quarterback of the future, when Sam Vidlak announced his decision to attend Oregon State University. Vidlak, out of Hidden Valley High School in Grant’s Pass, Oregon, had originally committed to Montana, but flipped his commitment today.
Excited to stay in my home state and play football for the Oregon State Beavers. Go Beavs!

Thank you Coach Smith, Coach Lindgren, and Coach Cookus for believing in me. #GlorytoGod pic.twitter.com/4xrxQguozz
Vidlak is a Pro Style QB and stands at 6’ 2” and 175 lbs. 247’s composite has him rated at two stars, and the 7th best recruit in the state of Oregon. Other than Oregon State and Montana, he was also offered by Northern Arizona and Yale.
Vidlak will join an OSU QB group that’s starting to look pretty full. In 2020 Tristan Gebbia is most likely going to be the starter, backed up by Aidan Willard and Chance Nolan, with Ben Gulbranson taking a red shirt season. You can check BTD’s QB Preview for a bigger rundown. When Vidlak joins the team in 2021, things will get very interesting. Check out some of his highlights below.
