Steve Gress of the Corvalis Gazette-Herald has reported that Quarterback Jake Dukart has decided to leave the Oregon State Football program.

Dukart signed with Oregon State last winter, and the local prospect out of Lake Oswego was expected to compete for the Beavers starting Quarterback job as early as next year, after spending this season as a red-shirt. Former Nebraska Quarterback Tristan Gebbia’s decision to transfer to Oregon State may have scuttled those plans, and with this move it’s possible that the coaching staff have committed to Gebbia as their future starter.

Dukart was a two-sport athlete in high school, and originally committed to Arizona State to play baseball. There’s no word yet on where Dukart will end up, and it may be possible he decides to stay at OSU and focus on baseball.

When we find out what Dukart’s plans are, we’ll let you know. Be sure to check back.
