Quarterback Tristan Gebbia Transferring to Oregon State

OSU’s Quarterback situation is going to be very interesting next year.

According to reports, first confirmed by Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, Former Nebraska Quarterback Tristan Gebbia has decided to transfer to Oregon State. The move comes just a few days after Gebbia was granted his release from Nebraska.

Gebbia made the decision after losing out on the starting job to Adrian Martinez. Gebbia would have been a redshirt freshman this season, and will sit out 2018 for Oregon State.

This makes next year’s Quarterback battle very interesting. Jake Luton will have graduated, opening up the position. Conor Blount looked very good at times during preseason practices, and Jake Dukart is waiting in the wings. Now they’ll both have to compete with Gebbia, a former four-star recruit.

Gebbia is the second Husker to announce his transfer to Oregon State in the past week. Linebacker Avery Roberts will also suit up for the Beavers in 2019. Gebbia has a previous relationship with new Head Coach Jonathan Smith, having been heavily recruited by Smith during his time at Washington.
