- Noted college football publication Athlon Sports released their Pac-12 All-Conference football teams for the preseason and Oregon State running back Ryan Nall was a notable omission from the first offense, in lieu of Washington’s Myles Gaskin and Oregon’s Royce Freeman. Overall, five Beaver players made the league’s first-fourth teams, including one interesting special teams selection as well.
- Speaking of running back Ryan Nall, BeaversEdge has already pieced together their “Spring Analysis” of the position, which is mostly centered around the talented Nall and the sprinkling of depth behind him. The most interesting part of the article could be their projected depth chart, which lists TCU transfer Trevorris Johnson as the potential #4 back-field option.
- Courtesy of the Milwaukee Bucks website, Oregon State alum Gary Payton II wasn’t with the team for too long but he did make enough of an impact to warrant a season review, which recaps his short stint with the team. As we chronicled earlier in the year here at BTD, Payton II signed a multi-year deal with the team in early April.
- The Oregonian have revealed that the Beavers have a new “deputy athletic director for capital projects and internal operations” with ties to AD Scott Barnes from his Pittsburgh days, as the school has announced the hiring of Dan Bartholomae. Bartholomae comes to Corvallis after 15 years at Pitt and will also serve as the program’s supervisor for football, in addition to a long-list of other duties and roles.
