#1 Oregon State Closes Regular Season With Sweep of Abiline Christian

The Beavers improve to 49-4 on the year.

Oregon State took the final game of the series against ACU by a score of 4-2. With the completion of the sweep, the Beavs grabbed their 11th series sweep of 2017. They finish the regular season with an overall record of 49-4.

The OSU offense got going right away with an RBI double from Trevor Larnach in the bottom of the first. In the next inning, Andy Atwood with his first career homer, a solo shot to left field. The Beavs added two more in the third. Atwood secured a bases loaded walk, then some clever baserunning by Christian Donahue in the next at bat saw him get home after a wild pitch. ACU got two runs back from a RBI double in the fourth and a sacrifice grounder in the seventh.

Jordan Britton got the start for his longest day of the year. He went six innings throwing seven strikeouts (also a career high), giving up just three hits and two walks with two earned runs. Bryce Fehmel also made a relief appearance for an inning, which was his first time on the field in almost a month. Jake Mulholland pitched the final two innings for his sixth save of the year.
