- If you build it, they will come. Head women’s basketball coach Scott Rueck has built the Beavers program into a mainstay powerhouse program and with that, the team’s impact trickles down to the recruiting front. On Wednesday, Oregon State continued to add to their loaded talent pool, when 2018 prospect Jasmine Simmons committed to the Beavers, via a post on her Twitter account. Simmons will join towering 6’ 9” prospect Andrea Aquino, who pledged her own commitment to the program back in late March, as the first two members of the 2018 recruiting class.
- How does Oregon State’s 2018 football recruiting class stack up against the rest of the Pac-12? According to BeaversEdge.com, at the moment, things aren’t looking so good for head coach Gary Andersen and company. Of course, the Beavers are hindered by only having three recruits who have verbally committed, but don’t worry Beaver Nation, there’s still time for Andersen and his staff to work their magic.
- Did someone say “College Baseball Bracketology?” Probably not...but you should start saying it with the NCAA Baseball Tournament right around the corner and the Beavers still standing as the top-ranked team in the country. Apparently, BYU may have some impact on the Beavers eventual plans, lined out in this piece by Danny Moran of the Oregonian.
- Oregon State’s softball team made the Women’s College World Series after a 28-25 regular season and our friends over at Pacific Takes did a really nice job at giving a Pac-12 oriented preview of how the final tournament will break-down for the Beavers. The women get going on Friday against James Madison in the Waco, Texas regional, along with regional favorite, #15 Baylor.
