5th ranked Oregon State (4-1) and Kansas State (2-3) continue the Big XII-Pac-12 Challenge with their second and final meeting today in Surprise, AZ, at 1 PM AST (noon PST).
Yesterday the Beavers came from behind twice, with big innings in both the 7th and 8th frames to take a 7-5 win over the Wildcats.
Yet again, there's no video again this week in Surprise, even though the games are being played in the spring training facility used by the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers, but we have Jay Reese's streamed call and live stats.
Oregon State will send junior RHP Jake Thompson (0-1, 19.29 ERA) out to see if he can do better than last week, when he got the first and worst of the shelling by Utah Valley in the Wolverines' 12-9 win last Saturday, the only setback the Beavers have suffered so far.
Kansas State will counter with junior LHP Parker Rigler (0-1, 4.50 ERA). Rigler gave up 3 runs on just 4 hits in 6 innings at UC-Riverside last Sarurday, but that included both a 2 RBI single and a solo home run. The the Highlander Bears pulled further ahead before the Wildcats added to the initial run of the game, and eventually won 6-3.
Here's today's lineup for Oregon State:
Notably absent is Trevor Morrison.
