Oregon State has still yet to conclude their search for an Athletic Director, despite multiple reports last week suggesting that Pitt’s Scott Barnes was close to accepting the position. The interview process should be nearing an ultimatum in the coming weeks, but the holidays may delay any announcements. Scott Barnes is still likely in the running to become the next AD, yet publicly denied he is leaving Pitt last week. Read more about Scott Barnes and the Athletic Director situation here.
Here’s a whole bunch of stuff to read while you pretend to work this morning:
Last week was college football’s mid-year early signing day, and the Beaver’s hauled in multiple highly touted recruits. Marcus Russell has the recap on last week’s commits here.
Women’s basketball persevered through The Great Oregon Snow Storm of 2016 to host the Beavers Beyond the Classroom game and continue to have a successful season. Read more on the Lady Beavs.
Our own David Mays went through every single bowl game and came up with who Beaver Nation should be rooting for in each contest. You should read this if for no other reason than it must have taken David hours to do it.
The men’s basketball team played at the Moda center in Portland in the Dam City Classic. It did not go very well. We lost to Long Beach State (recap here) and to the Portland Pilots (recap here).
To catch you up on Pac-12 basketball, we went ahead and updated our rankings of each team with updates on injuries and key games. You can find that right here.
And finally, Brian Moore ranked each Pac-12 football coach’s likelihood of getting fired in the next season. Mark Helfrich technically would’ve won this but wasn’t in consideration at the time of ranking. Sorry Mark. Miss you already.
Go Beavs!
