Oregon State returns home after securing a split on their Washington road trip, to host the LA schools, with UCLA first up.
After dropping a 56-43 decision at Washington Thursday evening, the Beavers bounced back to beat Washington St. 62-47 Saturday evening in Pullman, after holding the Cougars to 16 points in the first half.
The Bruins have been off just over a week, since defeating USC 83-66 across town at the Galen Center last Wednesday. UCLA is now on a 3 game winning streak, after having suffered a 5 game losing skid.
It could be a contest of conditioning, as Oregon St. is still down to 7 players before getting into their array of walkons, with Victor Robbins only up to game 3 in his 10 game suspension for violation of team rules, and UCLA has only 2 subs that average double digit minutes.
The depth problem for the Bruins will be compounded by Tony Parker's strained back, which could keep him out of action all weekend. At a minimum, his availability and productivity will be limited.
Oregon St. is a 1 1/2 point home favorite for the contest.
UCLA leads the all-time series (as they do against almost everyone) 91-35, but has lost their last 2 trips to Corvallis, where Oregon St. is still unbeaten this season.
