Oregon St. Going Back To CBI

Beavers Will Host Radford Wednesday

After being passed over for the NIT, Oregon St. has accepted a bid to the 16 team CBI Tournament. The Beavers, who went 16-15, and 8-10 in the Pac-12, and lost 88-74 to Oregon in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament, will host Radford Wednesday night. Exact tip-off time wasn't announced when the bracket was first released. One thing that has been announced is there's no television for this one.

UPDATE: Tip off will be 7 PM PDT.

The Quarterfinal Round will take place on Monday, March 24, followed by the Semifinal Round on Wednesday, March 26.

The Oregon St.-Radford winner will play the winner of Old Dominion-South Dakota St. on the 24th.

Prior to the semifinals, the remaining teams will be re-bracketed. The Championship Series is a best-of-three in which one team will host two of the three games. Those games will be played on March 31, April 2, and April 4.

Radford (21-12) went 10-6 and finished third in the Big South North Division, and lost in their second game in the Big South Tournament, falling 96-87 to UNC-Asheville, after the Highlanders had handled Presbyterian 78-73 in their first game.

Radford has been playing well, and won 7 of 9 games down the stretch before losing to the UNC-A Bulldogs.

Oregon St. is the only Pac-12 team in this year's CBI, and join Fresno St. and Wyoming from the Mt. West as western teams in the tournament.

It's Oregon St.'s 4th. trip to the CBI. The Beavers won the tournament in their inaugural appearance in 2009, taking 2 of 3 games from UTEP.

Oregon St. exited after a first round loss to Boston U. the next year, and reached the semifinals after a pair of wins 2 years ago, only to fall to Washington St.

8 of the 10 CBI games the Beavers have played have been at Gill, with 2 games in the best of 3 Championship Series in El Paso the only exceptions.
