The home-opener series against 2014 Big West Champion Cal Poly, who went 47-12 originally scheduled for Thursday Feb. 26 through Sat. Feb. 28 when the schedule was announced last fall has been moved back to Friday March 27 through Sunday March 29, which is the weekend at the end of spring break, and was originally an open weekend, the Beavers' bye week in the Pac-12 schedule, and then scheduled for a while to have a series against Missouri St., who has subsequently pulled out of that.
There will still be baseball on the originally scheduled home-opening weekend, though the home opener has been pushed back to Friday, Feb. 27, with first pitch at 5:35 PM.
The Grambling Tigers will be the new guests for the opening series, but will be here for only 2 days, so Saturday will see a double header, with the first game starting at 1:05 PM, and the second game to follow at apprx. 4:05 PM.
The Tigers went 16-32 last season, including an 11-13 campaign in the South West Athletic Conference.
The games against Grambling will be the first at Goss on the new surface currently being installed. Artificial turf is being laid throughout the stadium, which has had turf in the infield, but grass in the outfield.
This gets the schedule up to 55 games, with 35 of them within the State.
