Oregon St. and Kansas St. square off this afternoon in the first game of their best-of-three NCAA Super Regional series with a trip to Omaha for the College World Series awaiting the winner.

The Beavers swept their Corvallis Regional, with wins over UT-San Antonio, UC-Santa Barbara, and Texas A&M;, but all 3 victories were of the come from behind variety, including 9th inning wins the first two nights. Dylan Davis' 2 RBI walk-off double defeated the Roadrunners 5-4, and Danny Hayes drawing a 2 out walk with the bases loaded and 2 outs, after being down in the count 0-2, that pushed Tyler Smith across the plate produced a 3-2 victory over the Gauchos.

Sunday's 6-1 win over the Aggies wasn't as easy as the score indicates, as it was the 7th inning when Davis doubled to score 2 runs to open a 3-1 lead that was the first time all weekend the Beavers weren't either tied with, or in a 1 run game against their opponent.

The Wildcats lived up to their alternate nickname of the BatCats in the first 2 games of the Manhattan Regional, pounding out 9 first inning runs on their way to a 20-11 win over Wichita St. in the opener, and backing that up with a 7-1 win over Bryant, a former opponent of Oregon St., on Saturday.

Sunday's win was the toughest test of the weekend for the 'Cats, as Arkansas jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, before Kansas St. came back for the 4-3 victory.

Senior LHP Matt Boyd (10-3, 2.20) will make his last start at Goss Stadium for the Beavers. Senior LHP Joe Flattery (5-4, 3.87) will go out first for the Wildcats.

Oregon St. head coach Pat Casey is going with the usual lineup against leftys, with Ryan Barnes ahead of Danny Hayes:

Tyler Smith-SS

Andy Peterson-2B

Michael Conforto-LF
