Oregon St.'s Roberto Nelson was named the Pac-12 Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Beavers to a pair of non-conference wins.
Nelson had a game high 24 points to go with 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals in Oregon St.'s 79-73 win Wednesday over visiting Portland.
Nelson followed that up with a game high 31 points and 7 assists in the Beavers' 90-83 win Sunday at Maryland, Oregon St.'s first ever road win over an ACC team, and to the pleasure of President Obama, who was on hand to Cheer for the Beavers.
Nelson is averaging 30.3 points per game and making .833% of his free throws so far this season for Oregon St. (3-1), who will be off until Tuesday, Nov. 26, when the Beavers host Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
It's the first time Nelson, a senior, has been honored by the Pac-12 as their Player of the Week.
