Beaver Dam Hosting UCLA Viewing Party

Ever envy the Beaver Dam, that section of students that are some of the best fans the Beavers have? Well this Saturday you can join them for a a viewing party for the UCLA game, on the biggest big screen in the state. The Beaver Dam students are hosting a viewing party in Reser Stadium, with Oregon St.'s game against the Bruins being shown on the stadium scoreboard cam, and everybody is invited.

The event's initial aim is to provide a positive experience for the new students who will be arriving on campus this weekend, with fall term starting Monday. But then why limit it to that? And what better way to welcome the new Beavers than with all the fans?

So Reser Stadium will be open as of 11 AM for the 12:30 kickoff. Everyone is invited, and its free! You can sit in the seats, or take to the field with your stadium blanket, or bring a lawn chair. (But you will have to wait a bit to do that; the OSU Marching Band is going to be there too, and fans will get a sneak peak at the pregame show instead of having to wait until the Washington St. game).

Outside food and non-alcoholic drinks are even welcome, though they have to stay in the stands (Benny doesn't want any crumbs on the new turf!). Some food and drink will be available at the game (Qdoba and Pizza Pipeline are helping to put on the event) as well.

Detatchments from the band will fan out to the residence halls in the area, similar to their familiar tailgater visits, and lead the way back to the stadium, and then the pregame show will go on to get everyone ready to cheer on the Beavers. And then the ABC broadcast will begin, as the Beavers, who just missed cracking the AP top 25 this week, being the team on the outside with the most votes, try to snap a 2 game losing streak against the Bruins. UCLA is ranked #19, after handily defeating Houston. A win Saturday will move Oregon St. into the top 25 next week. Won't it be fun to see that happen with all your orange friends and Benny?

Go Beavs!
