Oregon State baseball fans got good news this Friday, as it was announced that three coaches had their contracts extended. Canham’s five year contract was the headliner, but it was huge to retain Rich Dorman and Ryan Gibson as well.
.@BeaverBaseball extends head coach Mitch Canham through 2029 and assistants Ryan Gipson and Rich Dorman through 2024. OSU put together a terrific 2022 campaign. https://t.co/EaQpk052wa

Back in 2019 Mitch Canham signed a 5-year contract worth 1.75 million (not counting bonuses). After a fantastic 2022 season, where the Beavers won 48 games and hosted a super regional Canham and company were due for a raise/extension.
Athletic Director Scott Barnes had this to say about today’s news: “Mitch was the epitome of a successful student-athlete during his playing career at Oregon State, and embodies what Oregon State University is about. He knows what it means to be a Beaver, loves this program and University and that has shown in his three seasons as our baseball head coach. He and his staff have been exemplary leaders for this program while making their mark in the Pac-12 and on a national level in a short time. I’m excited to announce these extensions.” (courtesy of OSUBeavers.com).
The Beavers are projected to have two first round picks in Sunday’s MLB Draft (Cooper Hjerpe & Jacob Melton). While many other Oregon State players will get drafted during the 20 round MLB Draft.
