The Los Angeles Lakers’ Tuesday may have revolved more around the signing of future Hall of Fame forward Carmelo Anthony, Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn and Malik Monk, but they also had their summer league debut in the 3rd Annual California Classic, falling to the Miami Heat in a tight 80-78 contest.
In the outing, former Beaver Tres Tinkle posted 7 points and 5 rebounds (3 offensive) on a 3-6 shooting day from the field in just under 12 minutes of playing time. He finished the first half with 5 points and 4 of those rebounds, playing 7:32 of his court-time then, before being used more sparingly in the second half.
Overall, Los Angeles was lead by Devontae Cacok on the scoring front, who tallied 15 points and 10 rebounds, and three other players in Austin Reaves, Yoeli Childs and Justin Robinson who all found double-figures in scoring.
For Miami, the Heat saw a huge performance from Omer Yurtseven, who totaled 27 points and 19 boards on a monster 11-20 showing from the field in the victory, in addition to four other players who reached the double-figure scoring plateau.
Up Next: Los Angeles will return to the floor on Wednesday, August 4th, when they take on the Sacramento Kings at 8:00 PM PT.
