As the calendar flips to August, college football’s return is theoretically closer. On Friday the Pac-12 announced a 10-game conference schedule only, with games starting on September 26th. Yesterday the Pac-12 players, said they won’t report to fall camp or participate in games unless changes are made. College football and the NCAA has largely ignored this pandemic and hoped for the best, but it doesn’t appear like that was a smart strategy. Regardless we will continue the top-20 list for the 2020 season.
#16 Jaydon Grant - Defensive Back
Jaydon Grant has had another eventful off-season, becoming a big voice for the growing Pac-12 Players union. The former walk-on was placed on scholarship last season and has made great strides each and every season. Grant racked up 26 tackles, 7 pass deflections and 2 interceptions as a redshirt sophomore in 2019.
Oregon State’s secondary has suffered a bunch of injuries the last few years, but Grant has been a mainstay and is entrenched as a starter at this point. The Beavers will have a lot more experience in the secondary with: David Morris, Kaleb Hayes, Isaiah Dunn, Nahshon Wright, Rejzohn Wright, Moku Watson, Jojo Forest, Akili Arnold etc etc. Beaver fans should expect a vastly improved defense in 2020.
29 tackles... 8 PBUs... 3 INTs
