As the calendar flips to August, college football’s return is near (MAYBE?). On Friday the Pac-12 announced a 10-game conference schedule only, with games starting on September 26th. And while everything is up in the air for all college sports; let’s hope for the best. And we continue our countdown of the most valuable players for this Oregon State football, that might play this year.
#19 Rejzohn Wright - Corner Back
Rejzohn Wright is prominently featured on Last Chance U - Season 5 on Netflix. I’m only 4 episodes in, but it’s clear that Rejzohn Wright is Laney College’s best corner/defensive player on the team. The coaches say he’s more talented than current Beaver starter Nahshon Wright (the brothers were teammates at Laney College in 2018).
From what I’ve seen, Rejzohn Wright does not lack confidence AT ALL. He’s extremely competitive and was very vocal and somewhat conceited in the first few episodes I’ve watched. Rejzohn is very tall and long for a corner, allowing him to break up passes and shut down passing lanes that smaller corners can’t.
I’m hesitant to declare Rejzohn an opening day starter though. Nahshon Wright had a fantastic first season with the Beavers and actually led the team in interceptions, but it could be tougher for Rejzohn to learn the defense with limited meetings and practices. I’m excited to watch the Wright brothers shut down opposing wide receivers in the near future though.
Projected Stats:
10 Pass break-ups... 3 INTs... A bunch of trash talking
The Full List:
19. Rejzohn Wright - DB
20. Chance Nolan - QB
