Damir Collins, a 5’ 9”, 195-pound running back from Jefferson High School in Portland, made his college decision on Wednesday (June 17th) to continue his career under head coach Jonathan Smith and the Oregon State football program.

Collins is rated out as a composite three-star recruit by 247 Sports and is the fourth-rated all-purpose back in the country. His choice of the Beavers was predicted by a panel of experts including 247Sports National Recruiting Editor Brandon Huffman, 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Greg Biggins and 247Sports Mountain Region Recruiting Analyst Blair Angulo.

Collins is now the seventh player committed to Oregon State in the 2021 class, joining four-star linebacker Easton Mascarenas, three-star JUCO defensive end Alex Lemon, three-star offensive lineman Henry Buckles, three-star quarterback Sam Vidlak, three-star linebacker Semisi Saluni and un-ranked offensive lineman Sione Veikoso.

The speedy tailback is also the third in-state commit in the 2021 recruiting haul, joining Buckles (Hood River Valley HS) and Vidlak (Hidden Valley HS). He is rated by 247 Sports as the third-best prospect in the state from the 2021 class, trailing only Lebanon linebacker Keith Brown, an Oregon commit, and his Jefferson teammate Nathan Rawlins-Kibonge.

With Collins’ commitment, head coach Jonathan Smith has now secured three of the top seven prospects from the Beaver State in the 2021 class.
