The 4-star prospect according to 247 Sports is from Mission Viejo, California. Mascarenas is a 6-foot, 215-pound inside linebacker with amazing instincts and speed. He had a bunch of scholarship offers including: Washington, ASU, WSU, AZ etc. He made his decision public on Twitter this afternoon.
Andrew Nemec of OregonLive.com compared Easton Mascarenas to every highly ranked high school football prospect that has attended Oregon State and determined that Easton is the highest ranked defensive recruit to commit to Corvallis (#5 overall).
The talented linebacker had previously taken an unofficial visit back in November 2019. He recently took a virtual visit and then FaceTimed the coaches to tell them of his verbal commitment. The hard-hitting linebacker appreciated the fact that Oregon State was the first school to offer him a scholarship and stayed committed throughout the long recruiting process.
