Cornerback Jaylen Martin, a 3 star recruit in the Beavers’ Class of 2021, today announced today his decision to reopen his recruiting.

Martin announced his original decision to attend Oregon State just over two months ago. At the time, he had also been offered by a long list of schools that included Bowling Green, Campbell, Florida Atlantic, Iowa State, Kansas, Tennessee State, UCF, USF, UT Martin and Washington State.

Martin currently attends Chamberlain High School in Tampa Bay, and having been offered by a few in state schools might be looking at offers closer to home. Its also possible he’s attracted more power conference schools since the new season has started, and has some more competitive offers on his plate.

Martin, 6’1 and 163 lbs., was rated as a three star prospect by 247 sports and their composite. 247 had him as the 110th best corner in the country, and the 147th best player in Florida. His decommit leaves a bit of a gap in the Beavers’ recruiting class, but they do still have several promising prospects. That includes one other cornerback; 3 star recruit Arnez Madison.
