OSU Football: Jaylen Martin Commits to Oregon State

The Class of ‘21 continues to look strong for the Beavers

NCAA Football: Arizona at Oregon State Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

The Beavers recruiting class of ‘21 continues to grow, with Jaylen Martin announcing his decision to attend Oregon State today. Martin, a cornerback who currently attends Chamberlain High School in Tampa Bay, Florida, was a 5A All State Selection for the 2019 season. He stands at 6’1, weighing 163 pounds.

While he does not currently have a rating on the major recruiting tracking sites, Martin was offered by many schools. That list includes some power conference teams, notably Iowa State, Kansas and Washington State. He was also offered by Bowling Green, Campbell, Florida Atlantic, Tennessee State, UCF, USF and UT Martin.

Martin is the ninth player to commit to the Beavers 2021 class, which is swiftly coming together. The promising group of players includes pro-style quarterback Sam Vidlak, all purpose back Damir Collins and tight end JT Byrne on offense, but the defensive side of the ball has really come together in the past month. In addition to Martin, the Beavers also landed a commitment from defensive end Omarion Fa’amoe a few weeks ago, and linebacker Easton Mascarenas committed back in May.
