In the midst of the off season for Oregon State football, here at Building the Dam we are previewing each position group and breaking down how we see the depth chart shaking out this fall. Today we take a look at the tight ends. Here’s where I see the depth chart shaking out with just about 6 months to go before we hear anything official.
Starters:
- Noah Togiai
- Isaiah Smalls
2nd String:
- Teagan Quitoriano
- Luke Musgrave
3rd String:
- Bryce Bramscher
- Jack Holum
- Ralph Taufa’asau
- Cam Sanders
Obviously the tight end position has suffered as Noah Togiai has dealt with injuries the past couple of seasons. Isaiah Smalls and Teagan Quitoriano did some nice things as true freshman and should improve in year two. Incoming recruit, Luke Musgrave, has the tools to become the next great tight end at Oregon State but he’ll probably need some time to develop.
The Oregonian’s, Nick Daschel, caught up with the Beavers number one tight end and wrote about Noah Togiai’s recovery and his goals for his senior season. It sounds like Togiai has fully recovered from two surgeries on each ankle and is ready to go out with a bang in his senior season.
Overall the tight end position is somewhat limited in depth, but I also expect them to have a much bigger impact in 2019 than they have had the last couple of season. Look for a breakdown of the secondary to drop tomorrow.
