Oregon State Hires Blue Adams

The DB coach will round out Jonathan Smith’s staff

Carolina Panthers v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Oregon State coaching staff is complete again. OSU has officially hired Blue Adams to replace Greg Burns as secondary coach.

Adams, 39, spent the past two seasons coaching defensive backs for the University of South Florida. Prior to that he coached for West Virginia (2016) in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins (2012-2015), and Northern Iowa University (2011). Adams spent five years in the NFL with the Lions, Jaguars, Buccaneers, and Bengals. Adams was an all conference player during his time with the Cincinnati Bearcats. In 2017 his USF secondary was second in the nation with 20 picks.

At Oregon State he will have an experienced core to with as David Morris and Jay Irvine return from injury to join the likes of Jalen Moore, Isaiah Dunn, Kaleb Hayes Shawn Wilson, Omar Hicks-Onu and Jaydon Grant (as well as some names I surely forgot).

While the 2019 class is looking all but locked up, Adams will have to hit the ground running as OSU works on it’s 2020 class. Along with his tenure in South Florida and with the Miami Dolphins, Adams has deep roots in Florida as a Miami native, I would suspect he will be instrumental in recruiting that area for OSU.

Welcome to Beaver Nation coach.
