The first two rounds of the MLS Draft were held today, and Oregon State was well-represented. Midfielder Hassani Dotson was picked with the 7th pick in the second round (31st overall) by Minnesota United FC, and Forward Don Tchilao was picked with the 12th pick in the second round (35th overall) by the LA Galaxy.

That puts a cap on an excellent season for Oregon State Men’s Soccer, in which they returned to the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the second round. Dotson and Tchilao were huge parts of that run, with Dotson playing every minute of his senior season, proving himself to be an imposing defender. Tchilao was the team’s leading point-scorer, with 7 goals and 9 assists.

The MLS season gets started on March 2nd. To follow Dotson’s progress for Minnesota United, be sure to check out E Pluribus Loonum. To see how Don Tchilao is doing with the LA Galaxy, head over to LAG Confidential.
