Oregon State kept the train rolling in Arizona on Monday with a 4-1 defeat of the Indiana Hoosiers. This was their second win over the Hoosiers of the weekend after defeating IU on Friday as well.

Jake Thompson looked solid in his second appearance of 2017, striking out eight batters in 5 innings and allowing 1 earned run. Also notable on the pitching side of things, Max Engelbrekdt earned his second save of the year. Through four games this year, OSU pitchers have combined to strike out 37 and hold opponents to a .177 batting average.

At the plate, sophomore Trevor Larnach had himself a day with a solo homer in the fourth, which was the first of his career. Larnach scored 2 total runs, including the homer, as well as an RBI.

The Beavers next face Nebraska on Thursday Feb. 23rd at Noon PT, who could prove to be one of OSU’s toughest non-conference opponents this season. We’ll have more on that matchup later in the week.
