When Head Coach Gary Andersen was hired at Oregon State in December of 2014, he emphasized the importance of recruiting local in-state talent to the Beaver Football program. Andersen and his staff fully understand the importance of recruiting in-state pipeline. Josh Bowcut will join fellow Sherwood classmate LB David Morris, as both defensive gems will stay in-state with the Beavers.
Sherwood High School’s Josh Bowcut committed to the Beavers on June 22, 2016. The Defensive Tackle is a 2 star recruit. The belief is that Bowcut has the potential to gain size. The hope is that Bowcut could build up to 320-330 lbs and clog space up the middle for future Beaver defenses. Bowcut is a strong, smart player that plays with a high motor on the field.
Josh Bowcut will go on a two year LDS mission. He will join the team before the 2019 season.
