Here’s how the Beavers Alumni did in the NFL Preseason this week.
New Orleans Wide Receiver: Brandin Cooks had 2 receptions for 47 yards. Cooks has been a solid starter since he arrived in New Orleans and could be in for a huge year as the Saints #1 option.
Pittsburgh Steelers Wide Receiver: Markus Wheaton had 2 receptions for 40 yards. He figures to be a integral part of the Steelers offense, as a second option to Antonio Brown.
Cleveland Tight End: Connor Hamlett caught 1 pass for 9 yards. Connor is currently the Browns 3rd option at TE.
Los Angeles Rams Quarterback: Sean Mannion went 6-of-12 for 43 yards and had a fumble. With the QB depth chart still influx, however he might not even finish the season in LA, he could be a great backup on any team.
Los Angeles Rams Punter: Johnny Hekker had 7 punts for a long of 54 and an average of 43.4 Hekker is one of the better punters in the NFL, he is also a dual threat who played QB in high school.
Chicago Bears Running Back: Jacquizz Rodgers only had 1 carry that went for 1 yard. Rodgers is currently second on the Bears depth chart.
Washington Redskins Defensive Lineman: Stephen Paea recorded 1 tackle. He should play a bigger role once the season starts.
Cleveland Browns Cornerback: Jordan Poyer had 1 tackle. Poyer is projected to be the starting free safety.
Arizona Cardinals Cornerback: Tyrequek Zimmerman had 2 tackles. Zimmerman is fighting hard for a roster spot.
Denver Broncos Cornerback: Ryan Murphy recorded a tackle. Murphy is also fighting for a roster spot but is unlikely to make the final cut.
