Oregon State reached the final four last season, which punctuated their best season in program history. They won the Pac-12 tournament and shared the regular-season title with Arizona State.
Despite their many accolades the coaches are expecting a sharp drop-off from a team that won 32 games last season. The Beavers have to replace Pac-12 Player of the Year (Jamie Weisner) and two-time Defensive Player of the Year (Ruth Hamblin). They also have to replace three other seniors from last season’s team.
Head Coach, Scott Rueck, has turned Oregon State into a recruiting destination though. The Beavers latest recruiting class includes Mikayla Pivec, Kat Tudor, and Maddie Washington. All three of whom were ESPN top-100 recruits.
The Pac-12 was considered by many to be the top conference in the nation last season. But, the Beavers will hope to prove the coaches pre-season rankings wrong as they compete for their second consecutive Pac-12 regular season title and build off last season’s historic run.
