Oregon St.'s football season opener on Sat. Aug. 30 against Portland St. will be a 1 PM kickoff (which could be a scorcher).
The game will be on some, but not all of the Pac-12 Channels, obviously including Pac-12 Oregon.
The 1 PM time slot will be split between the Beavers and Vikings game and Stanford's opener against UC-Davis. The split windows that day resulted when the 3 Pac-12 games against FCS foes were, as expected, all relegated to the Pac-12 to cover, and the conference's management's failure (refusal) to negotiate the elimination of the window of exclusivity when it was offered to them again took the most desirable and lucrative late afternoon start slot off the table.
The Thursday night game on Oct. 16 against Utah has also had its kickoff time set. Fox Sports 1 has picked up the game, and it will be a 7 PM start, which will make for a late night on a work & school night, but help alleviate what is going to be a traffic disaster in Corvallis on a week day.
Television has also been set for the second game of the season, at Hawaii on Sept. 6. Start time has been known, 7:30 PM PDT (5:30 in Hawaii), but the game has now been picked up by the CBS Sports Channel, which is one of the carriers for the Mt. West Conference, after ESPN/ABC passed over it.
