The last 2 teams to travel to Arlington, TX, for the Final Four of the 2014 NCAA Tournament will be determined today, to see who will get to join Florida and Wisconsin.
The Gators and Badgers made sure the Final 4 won't be Miller Time, as Florida knocked off Dayton, the last Cinderella, and the last mid-major, coached by Archie Miller, 62-52, and Wisconsin edged Arizona, the last Pac-12 team still in the hunt, and coached by Archie's older brother Sean Miller, 64-63 in overtime.
As a result, the Big 10 could provide 3/4 of the final 4.
The action today starts at 2:20 PM EDT (11:20 PM PDT) in Madison Square Garden, which is something of a home away from home for the Connecticut Huskies (29-8, the 7th seed in the East), which will give "UConn" an advantage against the Michigan St. Spartans (29-8, and the 4 seed in East).
The Huskies handed Iowa St. an 81-76 defeat Friday night to advance, while the Spartans edged Virginia 61-59. Both winners had big leads earlier, only to have to pull out their wins at the end.
The final ticket to Texas will be handed out to the winner in Indianapolis, after the Kentucky Wildcats (27-10, and the 8th seed in the Midwest) take on the Michigan Wolverines (28-8, and the 2 seed) at 5:05 PM EDT (2:05 PM PDT), in a battle of the "Big Blues".
The Wildcats ended defending NCAA Champion Louisville's attempt to defend their title with a 74-69 win over the Cardinals, while the Wolverines held off Tennessee 73-71, after the Volunteers had rallied from a double digit deficit.
CBS has the coverage of both contests.
