Game Notes / Gametracker Game 1 / Gametracker Game 2 / Live Stream
5th ranked Oregon St. continues their 5 game, 6 day northern road trip with a Saturday double header, after Friday evening's game was rained out, against Washington, to kick off the weekend Pac-12 series between the Beavers and Huskies.
The Beavers started the road trip off right, with a 5-1 win in Portland, powered by Danny Hayes' 4 for 4 day, that extended their win streak to 4 games. Oregon St. has won 6 of their last 7 games.
The Huskies are on a 2 game losing streak, with a 10-4 loss to Seattle, the team Oregon St. will conclude their road trip with a game against Monday afternoon, in their last outing on Tuesday. Washington has lost 6 of their last 7 games, with only an 11-3 win at Stanford in the middle game of last weekend's series as a bright spot during that stretch.
Oregon St. will go with senior LHP Matt Boyd (7-1, 1.55), who was scheduled to go Friday night, in the first game. Boyd 2-hit Utah for a 1-0 win last Friday night in his last outing.
Freshman RHP Andrew Moore (7-1, 1.61) will get the other start. Moore gave up only 5 hits working 2 outs into the 7th inning to get the win in the Beavers' 8-3 victory over Utah last Saturday, capitalizing on Beau Day's 4 for 4 day at the plate.
Washington will likely counter with sophomore RHP Jared Fisher (0-2, 4.91), their scheduled Friday night starter. Fisher was knocked out of the game 2 hitters into the 4th inning of the Huskies' 7-5 loss to Stanford last Friday in his last action. Fisher allowed only 4 hits, but was charged with 4 runs.
Junior RHP Austin Voth (4-4, 2.90) will get the baseball in the other game. Voth's last outing was a strong 5 hit, 9 strikeout, 2 run 8 inning effort last Saturday that produced the win over the Cardinal.
The first game has been moved up from the original 2 PM start, so a second game can get done in a timely fashion. The second game will start 30-45 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest.
